I am interested in the way that materials leave marks on each other and how they weather or change over time.  I experiment with “bundles” of materials” to see how the colours, textures and other properties interact. I use natural, synthetic and found materials and am interested in the distinction between things that were once animate and those that never were.

The slurry of grit and metal produced in the sharpening process has become an unexpectedly important material in my work.
